Assessment & Promotion

PROMOTION POLICY as per CBSE NORMS

ATTENDANCE

  1. 1. 90% attendance is compulsory for promotion.
  2. 2. It is mandatory for all the students to be regular and punctual.
  3. 3. Attendance on the opening day, after any vacation is compulsory.
  4. 4. Absence from school will be excused only in case of illness.
  5. 5. Parents must sign the Absentism Record Page of the student’s diary and send a Medical
       Certificate.

Promotion Criteria from CLASS III-CLASS VIII

1. ATTENDANCE: 90% in the academic session.

2. 60% in case of illness. (On submissionof medical certificate).

3. 2 Periodic Tests as per the CBSE.

4. Up keep of the class work and homework on regular basis.

5. NUR to Std II: Grades.

6. Std III to STD VIII: Grades and marks. 33% aggregate in all the subjects in the year’s average of
    the Periodic Assessment and Midterm with Final Exam.

7. If in case the student fails to fulfill the promotion criteria in the same class for the 2ndyear (EIOP),     he/she will be recommended to take T.C.

Promotion Criteria from Class IX to Class X

1. ATTENDANCE: 75% in the academic session.

2. 60% in case of illness. (On submission of medical certificate) Attendance for 10th as per board
    requirements.(for appearing).

3. 33% aggregate in all subjects.

Promotion Criteria from Class XI to Class XII

1. ATTENDANCE: 75% in the academic session.

2. 60% attendance in case of medical. (On submission of Medical Certificate.).

3. Attendance for12th as per board requirements.

4. 33% aggregate in all subjects (Theory and practical separately).



Assessment Structure effective from Academic Year 2017-2018 For Class I to X

1. Scholastic Area - Std IX-Std X

  • # Board Exam will take place at the end of the year with 100% SYLLABUS.

      Board Exam will be of 80marks for all subjects:- Language 1(English), Language 2 (Hindi), Science,
      Mathematics, Social Science and 6th Additional Subject.

  • # 20 MARKS Internal Assessment.

    •     a. Periodic Tests (Written Test)- Three tests will be held for each subject . As one being midterm test
              and other two being pre-mid and post-midterm test. Average of best two will be counted in Internal
              Assessment out of 10 marks.
    •     b. Notebook Submission-5 marks of Internal Assessment are from Notebook completed and checked for
              each subject.
    •     c. Subject Enrichment Activities-5 Marks of Internal Assessment.
                Subject Enrichment Activities will be recorded internally by respective subject teachers.
                Language 1 and 2-: ASL
                Science: - Practical Lab Work
                Mathematics:-Math Lab Practical
                Social Studies: - Map Work and Project
                6th Additional Subject (FIT/ICT):- Practical Exam
    •     d. 6th Additional Subject:- 40 marks board Exam and 60 marks Practical in case of FIT/ICT.

  • #. Marks and Grade both will be awarded for Individual Subjects.

  • #. Points grading scale will be as same as 12th Standard.


Std I - VIII

  • # Final Exam will take place at the end of the year with 100% SYLLABUS.

     Final Exam will be of 80marks for all subjects:- Language 1(English), Language 2 (Hindi), Science,
     Mathematics, Social Science, Computer Science(for std 4 to 8) and Sanskrit (3rd Language for std 6 to 8).

  • # 20 MARKS Internal Assessment.

    •     a. Periodic Tests (Written Test)- Three tests will be held for each subject . As one being midterm test

Class – XI- XII

  • # The total marks will be of 200 which include (50% marks) i.e. 50 marks of Half Yearly marks + 20 marks
       of Unit Test of 1st term + 20 marks of Unit test of 2nd term + 100 marks of Annual exam (100% of Annual
       exam) + 10 marks of project assignments / H.W. & C.W./ Attitude & discipline.

  • # Weightage given to Unit Test in both the terms (1st and 2nd term) will be of 20 marks each. Thus 40
       marks weightage will be in total given for weekly tests conducted throughout the year.

  • # In 2nd term 10 marks weightage will be given to project assignments, H.W & C.W / attitude & discipline
       of the child.

  • # 50% marks i.e. 50 marks of half yearly will be calculated for final assessment in all the subjects.

  • # 100% that is100 marks weightage will be given to Annual exam for calculating final assessment.

  • # In Class XI scoring 33% in theory & practical papers separately is essential excluding weekly test.

  • # 90% attendance is a must to be promoted to next higher class.

  • # The child will not be awarded any rank in class XI if he/she does not appear for any subject in the Exam.
